MMA Seminar with Carlo Prater
July 17, 2011
Our Judo instructor Bob Perez will be hosting an Mixed Martial Arts seminar with MMA fighter Carlo Prater. The seminar will be held at the Academy of Modern Martial Arts on Saturday, July 30th from 2:00pm till 5:00pm. Fees are $30 for pre-registration and $40 at door. Watch Carlo Prater fight on July 22, at the Legacy Fighting Championships, televised on HDnet tv. His record is 27–10–1
July Black Belt Test - Fitness Day

Our advanced students enjoyed a morning of fitness at Thomas Park. This was part one of our July black belt test for two of our students testing for junior black belt. They performed part two of their test last Friday and are now eager to complete part three at the graduation this Friday 15th, at 7:00pm. Feel free to come support and celebrate the achievements of our students.
Board Breaking Seminar

Black Belt Club Pizza Party

Family Day

Belt Test Rescheduled

The Academy is now closed today due to weather. The February Taekwondo final exam and Graduation have been moved back one week . Final exam will now be on Friday the 11th and Graduation on Friday 18th. If you have any questions call (979) 695-7150.
Bring A Buddy Month

During the month of February students are encouraged to bring a friend to class, sharing their experience they have attending our academy. Students have the opportunity to win prizes and earn credit towards proshop merchandise. More information here.
Modern Arnis Test

On Saturday, January 22, the following arnistadors successfully tested for their new ranks. Let's congratulate them for having done so well. Earl Tullis officiated and had kind words regarding the testers. Earl is the official tester for IMAF and all Black Belt testing is done by Earl. Here are the students and their rank earned.

Black Belt Class
January 5, 2011
Starting January 16th a Black Belt only class will be held Sundays at 5:00pm. Class focus is to continue increasing skill level and help individuals with their personal goals. Black Belts may still attend the advanced class on Monday and Wednesday. A second class time will be scheduled in the weeks to come.

Taekwondo Black Belt Test

Our December belt test had 20 students test and earn ranks from gold belt to one 1st degree black. Congratulations to all of those students that have been working hard and preparing for testing.
Our next regular belt test is on February 4th and the next black belt exam is in July. Several students are currently preparing to test for various degrees of black belt. This should be a fun and exciting test to watch!

Mr. Fedorchik takes third place in the Prison City Classic in Huntsville, TX taking third place in point fighting. Mr. Fedorchik is in white evading a punch. We hope to take several students to compete next year!
Board Breaking Seminar

Our Black Belt Club event for the Fall 2010 semester was a board breaking seminar. Mr. Mooney and Mr. Palmer taught our BBC members various techniques of board breaking. Everyone learned a lot and had a great time. Another BBC event is currently being planned for Spring 2011.
